(1/2 cup, amount of sugar in one 16 oz can of coke. A large at most restaurants is at least 32 oz!)
Now we're rolling. I haven't had a pop in three days. My head is going to explode, and I might have eaten several cookies tonight in an effort to replace the lost sugar.
If I can make it through this weekend pop free, I think I will be able to make it! What's another day without pop when I've come (three days) this far already!?

The Weighty Truth
182 pounds. Size 16. Barely.
In case you were prone to think I exaggerate. I think if I share the figures here, it will help.
Last night Bob and I went shopping for some new work clothes for me. We figured out that I have been wearing the same three pants and three shirts for the past four months. One of the pairs of pants are too long for me, both in the waist and length, so effectively I've been wearing two pairs. So we trucked off to Kohl's because Bob heard they were having a sale.
They were! I got three pairs of pants, five shirts and a pair of shoes for less than I spent on two pairs of pants and two shirts at Old Navy last time I went there. It will feel nice to get dressed in the morning in clothing of the non-hideous, work appropriate variety. BUT, let's hope that soon enough I'll have to go back for something that took a little less fabric to make.
Stop Pop Challenge, Day 3
Fact #1. One can of Coke has 10 teaspoons of sugar. Nuff said. I haven't actually dropped any pop yet. Thursday I pretty much drank a half a liter of Coke, and yesterday, I had a pretty large drink, as well. Today is looking up - I bought some lemonade at Kroger and am hoping to jump off of Coke with this other tasty drink and water.
I can't attest to the validity of ALL of the statements below, but I thought I'd share nonetheless.
Miscellaneous facts:
1. Did you know that the phosphoric acid (the main ingredient) in soda can dissolve a nail in as little as four days? If you're worried about osteoporosis (and who isn't?) then you should also know that phosphoric acid, which takes calcium from our bones, can be a contributor to the disease.
2. Did you know that the trucks carrying soda syrup concentrate have to use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials? Yeeks!
3. If you put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and let it sit, it will disintegrate within two days.
4. Coke is powerful enough to clean the inside of a dirty toilet.
5. In certain states in the US, the highway patrol officers carry two gallons of coke with them to remove blood from the highway after car accidents.
6. Aluminum foil dipped in soda can remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers.
7. Got greasy clothes? Pour a can of soda into the wash with the clothes and run the washer on the regular cycle. The soda will lift the grease.
8. A can of soda can be poured over a car battery to erase corrosion. It can also be soaked into a towel and put over a rusty bolt to loosen it.
9. If you've taken a trip and have a lot of windshield "debris", pour a soda onto your windshield to remove the bugs.
Whether these facts are true or not, they deserve your attention, if only to make you realize that what we put into our bodies matters. Choose wisely the next time you go for a beverage. How much can something impede weight loss if it is putting a bunch of "junk" right back into your "trunk?" Think about it.
Day 1: Drop Pop

Today's video was 30 minutes. I chickened out at 20. This workout says it's for beginners through intermediate, but AS a Fatty beginner, I can tell you it's not.
This evening I read in Eat This, Not ThatFatty McGee, Week One
Labels: Visualization ExcercisesYesterday Mr. McGee and I took Skinny Toddler to the zoo after work. We had a great time walking around, looking at the animals and people. Skinny Toddler particularly enjoyed the fish, and chased a fish larger than herself back and forth along the tank.
While there, I realized two things: 1) These hips aren't made for walking anymore! My left hip was really sore while we were walking, and still is. I have to believe that excercise and stretching will help.
Then the greatest thing happened. We were sitting in the Coral Cafeteria, eating lunch, minding our own business, when we saw them. She was wearing a pair of seven jeans and a tshirt; he was probably wearing the same. They had a little boy only a few months older than Skinny Toddler.
They were Skinny Us! The man greatly resembled Mr. McGee, and the woman looked very much like what I imagine I would look like if I were fit. I wasn't going to say anything about it, but then Mr. McGee said, "Hey. Look out the window. See that couple. They're Skinny Us!"
Further confirmation that there are two hotties hiding under these bodies.
Have you ever seen Skinny You?
